After the success of the 1st “Top 100” chart BBC Radio 1 decided to release a 2nd chart of similar stature. Again, they asked the Great British public to vote for their favourite song of all time and in a mammoth 8 hour show chart maestro Bruno Brookes and Lynne Parsons spent the day counting down the Top 100.
The chart was broadcast on Radio 1 at the end of May 1994 where the nations’ favourite song was again Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Many of the songs that featured on the 1st chart did make an appearance on this chart but in different places.
Radio 1 has not yet done another chart of this nature, but I reckon they should as many new great songs since 1994 have been released. So come on Radio 1. Pull your finger out and let the nation decide again, which is their favourite song of all time.
