Engelbert Humperdinck ~ The Last Waltz
Today is my sister-in-law’s birthday today, and to celebrate this, here is the song which was number 1 on the day she was born. This song was written by Barry Mason & Les Reed and is one of Engelbert’s biggest sellers. It spent 5 week’s at the top of the UK Singles Chart in September & October 1967.
Lynne Hamilton ~ On The Inside (Theme From Prisoner: Cell Block H)
This song was originally released in Australia in 1979 when the TV Show Prisoner: Cell Block H was televised and reached number 1 in the Australian Singles Chart. 10 years after the success of the show, it began broadcasting here in the UK and a search was on to find Lynne, who was living in Queensland. The song was “Rush-Produced” due to the popularity of the show, and it gave Lynne a Number 3 hit in the UK Singles Chart in 1989.
