Top 50 Greatest Music Videos

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Last night in the UK, Channel 4 unleashed a countdown of the Top 50 Greatest Music Videos as selected by Pop Industry Big Wigs, and then voted for by the public. The show was introduced by Girls Aloud’s Kimberly Walsh and culmulatively counted down the chart ending with a “No Shock Horror” result, in which Michael Jackson topped the poll.

Here is the complete list, do you think that some acts should have been placed higher? Do you think some music videos, which should have been included were left out? Tell me your thoughts!

01 – Michael Jackson – Thriller
02 – Britney Spears – Toxic
03 – Robbie Williams – Rock DJ
04 – Jamiroquai – Virtual Insanity
05 – Beyonce – Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

46 – Dire Straits – Money For Nothing
47 – Pulp – Common People
48 – Missy Elliott – Get Your Freak On
49 – Frankie Goes To Hollywood – Two Tribes
50 – Godley & Creme – Cry

Personally I think this list is pretty well balanced but I do think that some of the music videos that are in the lower regions, like Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” should be placed higher than Britney Spear’s “Toxic”, but that’s my opinion. I would love to hear what you all think to this list.
